🪔 #OnThisDay in AD 98 the Emperor Nerva died in the Gardens of Sallust in Rome. Nerva is seen as the first of the ‘Five Good Emperors’ of Rome. To secure his own succession, Nerva in 97 adopted Marcus Ulpius Trajanus (Trajan), who became emperor on Nerva’s death.
